Sadyr Japarov Took Part in the Launch of a Meat Processing Facility in Balykchy

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov Attends Launch of Major Meat Processing Facility in Balykchy During his working trip to the Issyk-Kul region on May 25, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov took part in the launch of the region’s largest meat processing enterprise in the city of Balykchy. The “Dordoi Balykchy” plant, built in accordance with international food safety management standards, is capable of processing meat from 100 head of cattle and 1,000 head of small livestock per shift. The facility’s annual production capacity is 14,000 tons. It will provide employment for more than 100 people. The total investment in the project amounts to USD 6 million. Half of this amount was financed through a loan from the Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund. In his remarks, President Japarov emphasized that the opening of the plant in Balykchy truly deserves support. He noted that despite frequent claims that a large share of the country’s population is engaged in farming and livestock breeding, overall production volumes remain low, the number of processing facilities is insufficient, and cluster-based production has yet to be fully developed in this sector. The head of state stated that, if implemented as planned, this project will become the first step toward establishing a vertically integrated meat cluster in Kyrgyzstan as part of the sectoral development program. “We are working according to the principle that the development of the regions is the foundation of the development of the country. In this direction, we are taking a comprehensive approach to addressing socio-economic challenges in the regions: increasing production volumes, raising the incomes of livestock farmers, creating jobs, and reducing labor migration,” Japarov said. Farmers from the Issyk-Kul, Naryn, and Chui regions are expected to supply raw materials to “Dordoi-Balykchy.” This will provide a significant boost to livestock breeders in these areas and increase the importance of animal husbandry. “In addition to retail or wholesale sales of livestock, we will focus on processing and producing meat products within the country. In this context, the volume of our exports will grow alongside the domestic market. Therefore, entrepreneurs who establish production facilities must hold certifications that meet international standards and maintain a veterinary laboratory. We need to promote and supply our environmentally clean meat products to foreign markets such as China, Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates,” the President emphasized. He also noted that the government is currently taking effective measures to strengthen the economy, address social issues, and protect the environment. “All public officials are working diligently for the benefit of the people. Those who attempt to appropriate state property or funds are being held accountable. Our goal is to serve you with honor and integrity. We are always ready to support entrepreneurs who strive to improve people’s lives, create jobs, and contribute to the country’s economy,” Japarov said, expressing gratitude to the business community and its partners for their support. Following the opening ceremony, President Japarov toured the plant’s production cycle, storage facilities, workshops, and laboratory.
