The largest meat-processing plant in the Kyrgyz Republic, Dordoi–Balykchy, is planned to be launched by the end of the year

The construction project of the Dordoi–Balykchy meat-processing plant is nearing completion and will be commissioned in 2022. This information was provided by the American Chamber of Commerce in the Kyrgyz Republic (AmCham) in its announcement regarding the company’s admission to the organization. As previously reported by Economist.kg, the Dordoi–Balykchy meat-processing plant is expected to become the largest in the Kyrgyz Republic. Initially, it was planned to launch the facility in December 2020. According to the project, the plant will be equipped with a technological line from an Italian manufacturer, allowing it to process 100 head of cattle and 1,000 head of small ruminants per shift, ensuring the production of a wide range of meat products. In the future, the company plans to establish breeding livestock fattening farms, launch feed production, and produce canned meat and delicatessen products (such as chuchuk, fermented meats, and injected meats). “Dordoi–Balykchy is intended to become a key link in the revival and development of the meat cluster in Kyrgyzstan and stimulate livestock production in the country by guaranteeing farmers a market for breeding livestock, introducing high-tech meat processing, and exporting premium-quality meat products,” AmCham noted. As previously reported by Economist.kg, around USD 8 million has been invested in the meat-processing plant. In addition, it was reported in 2019 that the company had received a large loan from the Russian–Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF). The loan was intended specifically for the purchase of European equipment capable of processing 100 head of cattle and 1,000 head of small ruminants per shift.
