Great interest in Ural lamb was shown in Samara

During a meeting with farmers from West Kazakhstan, the authorities of the Samara Region stated that the region is experiencing an acute shortage of lamb. Russian representatives expressed readiness to meet this demand with meat supplied from WKR (West Kazakhstan Region). According to the press service of the Akim of WKR, on April 10 a delegation from the West Kazakhstan Region, headed by Deputy Akim Arman UTEGULOV, visited the Samara Region. Officials from the akimat, the regional Departments of Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, and Industrial and Innovative Development, representatives of the national company “SPK Oral,” as well as entrepreneurs and major farmers involved in meat production, met with the governor of the region, visited the regional “Gubernsky Market,” and toured the production facilities of Garibaldi — a major Samara-based exporter of ready-made meat products.

The working meeting was attended by the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Samara Region Government, the Deputy Akim of WKR overseeing agriculture and environmental matters, as well as the Governor of the Samara Region. “Today, the West Kazakhstan Region exports meat to several regions of the Russian Federation. Our premium-class meat has already established a strong reputation on Russian markets. In addition to existing production facilities, five investment projects worth a total of 6.9 billion tenge are planned in the region, with commissioning scheduled for 2014–2015. By 2015, we expect our meat exports to reach 9,400 tons per year. Following the instructions of the Akim of the region, Nurlan NOGAYEV, extensive work is being carried out, and we are currently seeking new markets for our products. It is worth noting that this will be beneficial for both sides, and especially for consumers: meat products will be sold directly, without intermediaries, which will accordingly reduce the price,” said Arman UTEGULOV.
